about me
I trained at ‘Calming Influences’ School for Reflexology at the university of Southampton where I gained an ABC level 3 Diploma.
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists and I am committed to regularly updating my skills with ongoing training and development.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet and hands which correspond to other parts of the body.
Through applying pressure techniques to these reflex points I can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet or hands and by working on these areas I can release any congestion. Alongside specific massage techniques over the whole of the foot this gentle therapy will encourage the body to restore it’s own balance and create a sense of well-being.
The art of Reflexology dates back some 5000 years in ancient Egypt. It is a deeply relaxing holistic therapy which treats the whole person and not just the symptoms of a condition.
Who can benefit from reflexology?
Reflexology is suitable for everyone. A shorter treatment using lighter pressure is given to the elderly, babies and children.
After a course of treatments reflexology may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Whilst many people use this effective therapy as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress, many doctors and health practitioners recognise Reflexology as a well established and respected complementary therapy.
For each person the effect of the therapy is unique and more often people find it beneficial to continue with treatments in order to maintain health and well-being.
